Samsung Shelves Ballie as Sign-up Page Disappears

Samsung may have just driven the final nail into the coffin of its much-hyped ball-shaped home robot, Ballie. What once felt like a charming glimpse into the future never materialized into a real consumer product, and now the company appears to be quietly erasing the last public traces of it. The official sign-up page for availability updates has been taken down, signaling that Ballie’s commercial debut is no longer planned.

Six years after its initial introduction, Samsung signals the end of its Ballie robot 

Unveiled in early 2020, Samsung presented Ballie as a smart robot that follows users around the home. It could integrate deeply with the smart home ecosystem and assist with tasks. After years of little to no development, the company introduced an updated version in 2024, now adding a built-in projector. It later promised a summer 2025 debut in the United States and even launched a registration page for availability updates.

However, 2025 came and passed, and Ballie was nowhere to be seen. Samsung made no mention of it at CES 2026, and later described the product as an “active innovation platform.” If this wasn’t already enough hint that the home robot isn’t coming, the company has now pulled the registration page (h/t SamMobile). The URL now redirects visitors to Samsung’s projector landing page instead, confirming that Ballie as a commercial product has been shelved.

While Samsung never explained the decision, it likely couldn’t find a real purpose for the robot. The tiny home companion’s everyday value proposition was harder to explain. Instead, the company may be investing its home robotics resources into vacuum cleaners, which offer more practical use. At this stage, Ballie is definitely headed to the graveyard, just like Galaxy Home. Or maybe Samsung has something better in the works; we shall find out in the coming years.
