Samsung Rolls Out May 2025 Security Update for Galaxy S24 FE

by | May 16, 2025 | Galaxy S, News, Updates

Samsung has started rolling out the May 2025 security update to the Galaxy S24 FE. This is the first software release for the phone following its stable One UI 7 release. The latest security patch was previously rolled out to the regular Galaxy S24 flagships, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and a bunch of other devices.

Samsung’s May security update is now available for the Galaxy S24 FE

The May 2025 security update is currently available for the Galaxy S24 FE in Samsung’s home country of South Korea. It comes with the firmware version S721NKSS3BYDF, though the build number could vary in other markets. While this update is relatively minor in size, it plays an important role in strengthening the device’s overall stability and security.

This month’s security maintenance release (SMR) for Galaxy devices addresses nearly 80 vulnerabilities across Android OS and One UI components. Samsung will soon release the update for the Galaxy S24 FE and other models worldwide. Users can check for it manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

As mentioned above, this is the first update for the Galaxy S24 FE following the release of One UI 7. The previous software release was a massive one with an OTA package weighing more than four gigabytes (GB). It brought a UI overhaul, smoother animations, upgraded Galaxy AI tools, new camera features, improved app functionality and system fluidity, and more enhancements.

Samsung will soon start rolling out One UI 8 to eligible Galaxy devices, introducing new features and functional enhancements. It is expected to release a beta update for the Galaxy S25 series later this month. While the Galaxy S24 FE may not get beta updates, it should pick up the stable build within the next few months. We will keep you posted on Samsung’s One UI 8 developments.
