Galaxy S24, Fold 6 & Flip 6 Get First Update After One UI 7

Samsung has released a new update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. This is the first software release for these devices since the big Android 15 (one UI 7) update a few weeks back. The latest release brings the May security patch with several dozen vulnerability fixes.

The latest update for the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, Fold 6, and Flip 6 is initially rolling out in Samsung’s home country of South Korea. The updated firmware build number for the flagship trio is S92*NKSS4BYDF, while that for the Fold 6 is F956NKSS2BYDD and Flip 6 is F741NKSS2BYDD. All of these devices are only getting this month’s security fixes with no additional changes.

That’s no surprise, as Samsung recently rolled out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6. It brought tons of new features and enhancements, including UI changes, animation upgrades, camera features, and more advanced AI tools. The latest release addresses dozens of vulnerabilities across various Android OS and One UI components.

Samsung has already rolled out the May security update to a few other devices, including the Galaxy S25 series. The new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) should be available soon for more Galaxy smartphones and tablets worldwide. Since updates are released in batches, users in some regions may have to wait longer than others. You can always check for updates from the Settings app.

Rumors suggest Samsung is gearing up to launch One UI 8 beta programs this month. The Galaxy S25 should be the first to get in, followed by the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6. The stable version is expected to debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July, though older models may not get it until a couple of months later. We will keep you posted.
