Samsung Rolls Out June 2025 Update for Galaxy S22 Series

Samsung has begun rolling out a new software update for its Galaxy S22 series, delivering the June 2025 security patch. The update is currently live in South Korea and should expand to more markets in the coming days. The devices are eligible for One UI 8, which should arrive in a few months.
Galaxy S22 gets the June 2025 update with dozens of security patches
While this release doesn’t bring any flashy features or UI changes to the Galaxy S22 trio, it contains dozens of security patches. The June 2025 SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy family addresses over 60 vulnerabilities across Android OS and One UI components. The new update may also iron out some lingering One UI 7 bugs and enhance system stability with software optimizations.
Following its Korean release, where the update carries the firmware build number S90*NKS7FYF1, Samsung should roll out the June 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S22 trio in more markets. You can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it’s available, your device will prompt you to download and reboot.
As mentioned above, the Galaxy S22 series is eligible for Samsung’s One UI 8 update, based on Android 16. The company is currently developing the new OS build for the 2022 flagships. The Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra may receive the update around September. It will be the final major Android OS upgrade for the trio. Samsung launched them with Android 12 and promised four generations of OS upgrades.
The Galaxy S22 phones are eligible for five years of security patches, so you’ll continue to receive these security updates until early 20927. Users can expect One UI 8.5 sometime in early 2026. That should be the final feature release for the lineup. Stay tuned for more as Samsung prepares to roll out One UI 8.
