Samsung Preps One UI 8 Beta with Simpler Process — See Key Changes

Samsung is preparing Galaxy users for the upcoming One UI 8 beta. The company just pushed an official notice in the Samsung Members app across several Galaxy devices, outlining some changes in the beta testing process. The changes are aimed at simplifying participation and improving the overall testing experience.
Samsung streamlines beta participation for One UI 8
The biggest change is a simplified two-step process: users first join the Beta Program, then choose to participate in the actual Beta test. Previously, users had to agree to separate terms and conditions for each device. Now, one agreement at the program level covers all supported devices logged in with the same Samsung account. This change allows users to join or leave beta testing on any device with just a few taps—a major improvement in flexibility and convenience.
Samsung has also introduced a permanent “Beta Program Home” within the Members app. This new section remains visible at all times, not just during active beta periods. It serves as a centralized hub for joining current beta tests and accessing helpful resources through a new feature called “Beta Tips.”
There are two ways to access this space:
- By selecting the “Beta” section on the Samsung Members home screen (always visible, and prominently placed for active beta participants)
- By tapping the Beta recruitment banner when a new test is available
This notice from Samsung hints at an imminent release of the One UI 8 beta, based on Android 16. Interestingly, the notice is live in multiple countries, including Korea, India, and the US. It looks like Samsung will launch the beta program simultaneously across all supported markets — Germany, Poland, China, and the UK are also expected to get the beta update.
As far as supported devices are concerned, the Galaxy S25 series should be the first in the line. The Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, S24 series, and other models may join the One UI 8 beta later. This banner showed up for us on the S24 Ultra too, so maybe a simultaneous release is on the cards. We shall find out soon.
