Samsung is now gearing up the One UI 8 update for a range of Galaxy devices. These will receive the big update in the coming weeks. Most recently, Samsung has begun preparing the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Samsung starts testing One UI 8 internally for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5

As spotted by Akhilesh Kumar and Tarun Vats, Samsung is currently testing the One UI 8 build for both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Flip 5. According to which, the build number for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is F946BXXU5FYG2. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is running build number F731BXXU5FYG2.

If this is any indication, it shows that Samsung is ramping up One UI 8 testing as we approach the official launch. In case you missed it, Samsung will officially unveil the stable version of One UI 8 at the July 9 event in New York, where the new foldables will take center stage. These new foldables will also debut running the Android 16-based One UI 8.

Samsung is currently testing One UI 8 with Galaxy S25 users in select regions through its beta program. The latest update focuses on improving stability and fixing bugs to enhance overall performance. It’s not yet clear if another beta version will be released. But Samsung will continue refining the software through further public updates or internal testing before the final rollout.

One UI 8 brings several improvements, and anticipation is high for the final version. While the updates might not be as dramatic or visually striking as those seen in One UI 7, there are still plenty of handy new features designed to make daily use smoother and more convenient.

We expect Samsung to announce the rollout schedule either during or shortly after the Galaxy Unpacked event. Honestly, we’re just as excited as you are.
