Samsung Mysteriously Pulls One UI 7 Update for Galaxy A34

Even though the One UI 8 beta program has been underway for a while now, the One UI 7 update is still in progress. Several Galaxy devices have already received the update, but some are still waiting for it. Just a few days ago, Samsung began rolling out the One UI 7 update to the Galaxy A34, but the rollout didn’t last long.
One UI 7 update halted for the Galaxy A34, and no one knows why
To recap, Samsung also added support for GPUWatch and the Vulkan graphics API to the Galaxy A34. Up until now, everything seemed to be running smoothly, with no major complaints. However, earlier today, Samsung unexpectedly pulled the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A34.
The company has removed the One UI 7 DYE7 build for the device, labeling it as test firmware (h/t: @ya_sking12767). It’s no longer available via over-the-air (OTA) download. This move suggests the update may have run into issues or is still undergoing internal review. Users who already downloaded it might retain early access, but the rest will have to wait.
One user pointed out a potential bug, when the Always-On Display is enabled, the Eye Comfort Shield automatically kicks in. This apparently makes it impossible to unlock the phone with a fingerprint unless the display is manually turned on first. We haven’t tested the One UI 7 update ourselves, so we can’t confirm this bug. Still, it might explain why Samsung decided to pause the rollout.
A couple of months ago, Samsung also pulled the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 and S24+. At the time, there was no official acknowledgment from the company. Based on past patterns, it’s likely that a revised One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A34 will reappear within a few days at the earliest.
That said, the Galaxy A34 is also eligible for the One UI 8 update, which is set to go stable next month. There’s no telling exactly when it will roll out to more devices, but we can expect a few more weeks of waiting once it lands on the Galaxy S24 or earlier models.
