Samsung Moves Galaxy Store Search Bar to Bottom in Latest Update

Samsung has released a new update for its Galaxy Store app with version 4.6.03.8. The update moves the search bar from the top of the screen to the bottom, improving the user experience, particularly for one-handed use. The update is rolling out globally for all eligible devices, though it may take some time to reach everyone.
New Galaxy Store update improves one-handed navigation
The Galaxy Store is Samsung’s own app marketplace, pre-installed on Galaxy devices. It lets users download apps, games, themes, and more. The Korean firm continues to update the app marketplace to make it faster, easier to use, and more visually appealing. This latest update is part of its ambition to unify the design of its stock apps.
In One UI 8.5 (based on Android 16), Samsung has moved the search bar in several stock apps, such as My Files, to the bottom of the screen. The idea is to help you reach the search bar with your thumb easily while holding the phone in one hand. Samsung has now brought the same design principles to its Galaxy Store, creating a consistent experience across its apps.

Now, when you open the Galaxy Store and tap the search icon, you will see the search bar at the bottom of the screen. Next to the search bar, there are other options, including a microphone for voice search and a three-dot menu for more settings. This layout lets you search for key functions easily with one hand.
The best thing is that this change in the Galaxy Store isn’t limited to One UI 8.5 beta — it’s also rolling out to One UI 8 users. This means more Galaxy users can enjoy the improved usability on the app marketplace. When the new version lands on your Galaxy device, you’ll see a prompt to update the app as soon as you launch it.
