Galaxy A57 Moves Closer to Launch with BIS Listing

Samsung’s 2026 mid-range king, the Galaxy A57, is a step closer to its official introduction. The device recently appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification site, clearing its way for launch in India. A global launch is expected between February and March this year.
Samsung Galaxy A57 bags the BIS certification on its way to launch
BIS certification is a mandatory step for all smartphones sold in India, and such listings often appear just weeks or months before launch. The Galaxy A57 picked up the certification with the model number SM-A576B/DS, which is its global dual-SIM variant. Samsung may also launch the phone in a single-SIM variant in some regions.
As usual, the BIS listing reveals nothing more about the upcoming premium mid-range smartphone. However, the device is no stranger to leaks and rumors. It should run on Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1680 chipset and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging.
The Galaxy A57 is likely to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. There should be a 50MP primary camera on the back, with rumors pointing to a new Sony sensor for improved photos and videos. We still do not expect Samsung to offer a zoom camera on its mid-range phones.
Coming to the software experience, the Galaxy A57 may ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. Since rumors suggest an official launch before the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is unlikely to ship the device with One UI 8.5. The new version should debut with the upcoming flagships in late February, though sales may not begin until mid-March.
As more certification listings and leaks continue to surface, we’ll get a clearer picture of the Galaxy A57’s specs, pricing, and launch timing. Stay tuned for updates!
