Samsung May Soon Launch a Credit Card in the US

Samsung may be gearing up to step into the US credit card market. The company recently filed a trademark for a credit card-related service stateside. The card will likely be part of Samsung Wallet, expanding its push into digital payments and financial services.
Samsung’s own credit card appears around the corner
In February 2026, Samsung filed a trademark for the name “Samsung Galaxy Card” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The trademark has not yet been approved, but the listing confirms that the service is for a credit card.
Earlier reports suggest that Samsung has been in talks with the British bank Barclays to launch a credit card in the US. The card could operate on the global Visa payment network. If the partnership goes ahead and the trademark gets approval, the new filing could pave the way for the launch of the “Samsung Galaxy Card.”
Samsung Wallet already lets users add qualifying payment cards from networks such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. If you are a Galaxy smartphone user, you can make payments in stores, online, and within participating merchant apps. It also stores passwords, addresses, and card details via Samsung Pass to make online shopping easier.
Now, if it issues a Samsung-branded credit card, it could be able to improve the platform’s capabilities. The company may offer cashback rewards and discounts for using its credit card to buy Samsung products. Its rival, Apple, already offers a similar service with Apple Card. In 2019, the Cupertino giant introduced its own credit card in partnership with Goldman Sachs.
As of now, it’s unclear when Samsung will officially announce its own credit card. However, recent developments suggest the company may be inching closer to a launch. We’ll let you know when that happens. Stay tuned.
