Samsung Knox Secures New Milestone with TUV Nord Certification for Home Appliances

Samsung continues to strengthen its home appliances security with Knox technologies. The company recently received IoT security certification from TUV Nord for its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo, and Bespoke AI Refrigerators. This is the first time Samsung’s smart appliances have earned such a security certification.

Based in Germany, TUV Nord is an IECEE-accredited national certification body. The certification follows the ETSI EN 303 645 standard, which defines security and privacy requirements across the lifecycle of consumer IoT devices. To obtain certification for a product, it needs to meet several requirements, such as data encryption, authentication and access control, secure software updates, personal data protection, and vulnerability management.

TUV Nord certification of Samsung home appliances shows the company’s strength in device security and data protection. Thanks to Knox security technologies that safeguard user data through multiple layers of protection. For example, it checks for unauthorized firmware modifications when the device starts. Furthermore, the system encrypts all robot vacuum videos and user commands.

“As the global focus on smart home security intensifies, Samsung continues to deliver robust protection through our Knox security platform,” said Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “This certification validates the strength of our security technologies, and we will continue to enhance differentiated protection to safeguard customer data.”

Samsung says its 2025 Bespoke AI Refrigerators and Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam offer improved security with Knox Matrix and Knox Vault. The former alerts users quickly in the event of data theft risks, while the latter stores sensitive personal information on a dedicated hardware subsystem.

As of now, the company is gearing up to unveil its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam at IFA 2025 next month. In addition to TUV Nord, this upcoming robot vacuum cleaner has also earned Diamond Security Ratings from UL Solutions. Meanwhile, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo and Bespoke AI Refrigerators are already available in select global markets.
