Samsung aims to make healthcare more connected and personal for its Samsung Health users. The company recently teamed up with HealthTap, a leading virtual healthcare provider, to expand the scope of its Health app. This partnership brings virtual primary and urgent care directly into its health and wellness platform, letting users access doctor consultations seamlessly.

Samsung and HealthTap team up to deliver connected healthcare service

For years, Samsung Health has helped millions of people track health data, including sleep, exercise, heart rate, and more. Now, the platform is moving from wellness tracking to real healthcare. In recent years, consumer expectations for integrated digital health have reached new heights, and the Korean firm is responding to that demand. Its latest collaboration not only brings virtual physician visits directly into the Samsung Health app but also strengthens patient trust and loyalty.

Now, Samsung Health’s 7 million monthly active users in the US across Android devices can enjoy the streamlined care journey. Users can connect to a HealthTap doctor for a video consultation within minutes. They can then review the clinician’s notes and other instructions right from the Samsung Health dashboard. This eliminates the need for users to switch between apps, making the entire process seamless.

Furthermore, physicians can review real-time health data collected through Samsung devices to better understand each patient’s overall well-being. This helps doctors make more accurate treatment decisions and provide personalized recommendations to patients. Samsung announced HealthTap’s integration a few weeks ago and began gradually rolling it out in its Health app.

“We believe easy access to care is foundational – be it doctor’s visits or price transparency for medications. Consumers are asking us for actionable information at the right time to support their health journey,” said Dr. Ricky Choi, US Head of Digital Health, Samsung Electronics America. “By making available telehealth services into the Samsung Health experience, we are making care actionable, enabling users to move from wellness to clinical care and back in a trusted environment.”
