Wherever you are, odds are good the Galaxy in your hand came out of Vietnam. The country has become a cornerstone of Samsung’s massive phone business. In just the first half of 2025, Samsung Vietnam pulled in $31.8 billion in revenue.

Exports reached $28 billion in the same period. Samsung has invested $23.2 billion in the country so far. And its subsidiaries — including Samsung Display and Samsung Electro-Mechanics — have been expanding their own operations. All of this suggests how important Vietnam is.

Two Vietnam factories have produced 2 billion Samsung Galaxy phones

A new report from ETNews says Samsung has hit a major milestone in Vietnam. Since beginning operations there in April 2009, the company has produced more than 2 billion phones. The bulk of that output comes from its factories in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen, which by the end of June 2025 had shipped a combined total topping 2 billion units. Those two sites now rank among the most important production hubs in Samsung’s global supply chain.

Samsung is also trying to deepen its roots in Vietnam by strengthening local supply chains. Earlier this year, it set up a dedicated team to work with local businesses, offering operational support and training in smart factory technologies. The company has been running workforce and supplier training programs since 2015 to help expand Vietnam’s components industry.

Samsung’s future in Vietnam looks bigger after 2 billion phones

Samsung MX chief TM Roh credited the company’s 90,000 employees in Vietnam for the achievement, saying their work made the milestone possible. He confirmed Samsung plans to keep expanding in the country and contribute to its economy and communities.

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the announcement, noting that Samsung’s growth supports the country’s development and helps strengthen ties between Vietnam and South Korea. He urged the company to continue investing and align with Vietnam’s long-term goals.
