Samsung Begins Global One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung is accelerating the rollout of Android 16-based One UI 8 for its eligible Galaxy devices. The company has today released the update for the Galaxy S23 series globally. This comes just two days after its release in its home country, South Korea.
Global Galaxy S23 units have started receiving the One UI 8 update
Last month, Samsung began the stable rollout of One UI 8 for Galaxy devices. As expected, the Galaxy S25 series was the first to get a taste of the new software, with the S24 lineup following a week later. Thankfully, the company did not take long to make the update available for its 2023 Galaxy S flagships.
The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are picking up the update with the firmware build number EYI5. It carries an OTA size of around 3GB for the Ultra model and includes the September 2025 security patch. Several users from around the world, including countries like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, France, and Turkey, have confirmed the rollout.
If you live outside Korea and own any of these models, you can check for the latest version by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Since the OTA package is large, you should connect to a stable Wi-Fi network and ensure your device has at least 50% battery. After the download is complete, tap the Install now button to start updating your device.
Samsung shipped the Galaxy S23 series with Android 13 out of the box, promising four major software upgrades. This means the devices will receive one more major upgrade after the Android 16-based One UI 8 update. With the latest software, you’ll find a cleaner visual design and smarter customization tools.
