Samsung strives to help its home appliance consumers reduce their energy costs. The company has recently expanded its partnerships with major global energy companies to provide several energy-saving benefits. These include free or discounted electricity, energy management programs, and automated tools that help customers use appliances more efficiently.

Samsung offers several energy-saving benefits for home appliance users

Samsung has recently signed a partnership with Enel, Italy’s largest energy company. This allows customers to receive up to 180 kWh of electricity for free for two years. To be eligible, customers must buy a Samsung washing machine and connect it to SmartThings.

Last month, Samsung partnered with British Gas in the UK to launch the Samsung Weekend Saver Fix plan. This program offers a 50% discount on the electricity bill between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The offer applies to a bunch of Samsung appliances, including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators/freezers, ovens, microwaves, cordless stick vacuums, and robot vacuums.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s partnership with Dutch energy company Coolblue continues to offer customers free daytime electricity. As part of the Free Laundry Program, it provides free power for washing machines and dryers between noon and 3 PM.

In the US, Samsung collaborates with energy company Leap on the Flex Connect program. The program is about SmartThings’ AI Saving Mode, which connects appliances to automatically optimize power consumption during periods of high demand or grid instability. When customers enable AI Saving Mode, they can earn reward points (redeemable on Samsung.com). As of now, the program is live in California, New York, and Texas, with plans to expand to more regions.

Furthermore, Samsung offers a host of convenient features to help users save on their electricity bill. Thanks to the SmartThings app’s Energy feature, users can monitor their home appliances’ energy usage and receive notifications when electricity discounts are available. Meanwhile, Samsung says it will showcase its energy-efficient AI home appliances at the CES 2026.
