Samsung Confirms One UI 8 Watch Rollout for Later This Year

Today is a great day for Samsung fans. In a big announcement, Samsung shared several pieces of good news. First and foremost, the Galaxy S25 series will start receiving the stable One UI 8 update next month. After that, more devices will get the update in the following weeks.

The next bit of good news is that Samsung has finally revealed when the stable One UI 8 Watch update will begin rolling out. According to the company, eligible Galaxy Watch models will get the update “later this year.” No exact timeline was provided, which leaves fans in a bit of limbo, but hopefully not for too long.

While the latest announcement did not name specific models, previous statements suggest that the update will be available for the Galaxy Watch 4 and newer. Rollout schedules are expected to vary, meaning some watches will receive the update earlier than others. Based on past patterns, the Galaxy Watch 4 could end up toward the back of the line.

As of now, One UI 8 Watch comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra (2025). The 2024 Galaxy Watch Ultra began receiving the update last month. However, the Galaxy Watch 7 is still waiting, which has left some owners more than a little impatient.
