If you own a Samsung TV and soundbar, you are probably aware of Q-Symphony. This feature lets your TV speakers and soundbar work together for a more immersive sound experience. Now, the company is bringing this technology to Harman Kardon and JBL audio devices. This will allow users to pair their Samsung TVs with a wider range of speakers, not just Samsung-branded audio devices.

Q-Symphony is no longer limited to Samsung-branded audio devices

For the uninitiated, Q-Symphony is Samsung’s audio technology that synchronizes a TV’s speakers with external audio devices, such as soundbars and Wi-Fi speakers. Unlike classic setups, where TV speakers stop working once a soundbar is connected, Q-Symphony keeps all speakers active to deliver better surround effects.

Samsung has recently advanced Q-Symphony with a more intelligent and adaptive version. The improved system can now analyze the room layout and speaker placement nicely to optimize channel distribution. It also lets users pair up to five compatible speakers with a Samsung TV. “The result is clearer dialogue and more detailed surround sound as you are in the middle of the scene,” the company noted.

However, this technology appears not to be limited to Samsung-branded audio products. According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung is expanding Q-Symphony support to Harman Kardon and JBL starting this year. This will allow you to pair your compatible Samsung TV with audio devices from these popular brands.

While this may come as a surprise, it makes sense. Samsung owns both Harman Kardon and JBL through HARMAN International, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics. As such, the Korean firm might have greater control over hardware and software integration across these audio brands. They may be using a separate chip to enable seamless audio synchronization.

Reports suggest that most Harman Kardon and JBL wireless speakers launching in 2026 will feature Q-Symphony. We will let you know if Samsung shares more about the expansion of its audio technology.
