There are rumors swirling that Samsung could kick off the One UI 8 Beta 2 rollout as early as next week. At the moment, the One UI 8 beta is available only for the Galaxy S25 series. Well, the Galaxy S25 Edge is still left out in the cold. A number of devices have also been spotted running One UI 8 on Geekbench, and the Galaxy Tab S9+ is the latest to throw its hat into the ring.

As spotted by Alfatürk, Samsung has now begun testing the Android 16-based One UI 8 on the Galaxy Tab S9+. The US variant (SM-X818U) was recently seen on Geekbench running Android 16. This somewhat suggests it could soon join the beta party. But not before the update becomes available for newer models like the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra was also spotted running Android 16 on Geekbench just a few days ago.

For what it’s worth, Samsung is moving at a faster pace this time. The One UI 8 beta program began even before the stable version of One UI 7 had reached all eligible devices. So far, though, One UI 8 is only available on three devices and in fewer regions compared to previous beta programs. That means the odds are good we’ll see the beta expand to more regions, more devices, or both as soon as next week.

The stable version of One UI 8 isn’t far off either. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 will launch running Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. That’s the kind of surprise Samsung seems ready to pull off, delivering two major updates in less than six months. And who knows, there could be more in store. For now, we can expect more devices to get a taste of the beta in the coming weeks, through July.

Thanks for the tip, Alfatürk!
