Samsung Begins One UI 8.5 Testing for Tablets

Samsung has been testing One UI 8.5 for smartphones for a while now, even releasing beta updates. Now, the company has begun testing the new software for tablets. Interestingly, the first tablet lineup to show up with a One UI 8.5 build is not the Galaxy Tab S10 or Tab S11 series. Instead, it is the older Galaxy Tab S9 series that has appeared first.
Galaxy Tab S9 series spotted with One UI 8.5 on test server
The entire Galaxy Tab S9 lineup has appeared with One UI 8.5 test builds on Samsung’s official servers, including both Wi-Fi and 5G variants. We have noticed test firmware for regions like India and Europe, with the latest build version being EYL1. We expect more tablet devices to enter internal testing soon. The Galaxy Tab S10 or Tab S11 series may show up next.
As mentioned above, Samsung has already started beta testing One UI 8.5. The first beta build for the Galaxy S25 series was released last week, with a second update expected next week. It’s unclear if the company plans beta updates for more devices, though.

Meanwhile, internal test builds have appeared for the likes of the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy A56, and Galaxy A55. As things stand, no One UI 8.5 builds have been spotted for Galaxy M series or F series devices, though many models are in the pipeline to receive the update.
The stable version of One UI 8.5 should debut in early 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Based on Android 16 QPR2, the update brings refreshed visuals across system apps. It offers improved lock screen customization and smoother animations, and also introduces a partial screen recorder and improved blur across many system areas.
