Samsung Expands One UI 8.5 Testing for Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S8 Series

Samsung has been actively testing One UI 8.5 for various devices over the past few weeks. The testing has begun for flagship smartphones, budget models, and tablets. Recently, the latest Galaxy Tab S11 series and older Tab S8 series have also joined the list.

One UI 8.5 test builds spotted for Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S8 series

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra in early September this year. These came with One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box. Now, the company has started internal testing of One UI 8.5 for these tablets. As spotted by Alfaturk, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Wi-Fi has appeared on test servers with the build version X930XXU3AYL6. At the same time, the Galaxy Tab S11 Wi-Fi carries the firmware version X730XXU3AYL6.

Also, a few days ago, we spotted the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup with One UI 8.5 test builds. Testing has started for all three models, the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra. The build info for the Wi-Fi variants is X*00XXU9EYL1. They have appeared on Samsung’s test servers in regions like India, Europe, Korea, Turkey, and a few other regions. 

As usual, this doesn’t mean the update will roll out anytime soon. It only confirms that Samsung has begun internal testing for these models.

Other tablet models already spotted with One UI 8.5 test builds include the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE devices. Overall, this week has been quite busy for Samsung. It is especially in terms of One UI 8.5 development, with test builds being spotted for several budget, midrange, and tablet devices.

The One UI 8.5 stable update is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. Eligible devices should start receiving the update shortly after that, with the full rollout likely completing in the first half of next year.
