Samsung Announces AI Health Coach Beta, Coming to the US Later This Year

Samsung recently announced that it will introduce an AI Health Coach chatbot within its Samsung Health app. The chatbot will initially be available in the US later this year in its beta form. The goal is to bring personalized health advice directly to users at home, using AI and wearable devices like the Galaxy Watch.
AI Health Coach will provide personalized health care suggestions
Samsung has recently acquired the digital healthcare platform Xealth so it can bridge the gap between wellness and clinical care. This acquisition will allow the Korean firm to connect its health ecosystem with more than 500 hospitals and 70 digital health solution providers. More importantly, it gives Samsung the opportunity to explore new potential features for digital healthcare solutions.
During the recent Galaxy Tech Forum in New York (via Korea Herald), Park Heon-soo, head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung, said, “We will release a beta version of the AI Health Coach that supports users in implementing doctors’ recommendations through Galaxy Watch and mobile devices.”
Samsung says it will integrate the AI Health Coach directly into the Samsung Health app. Furthermore, it plans to connect its wearable devices with the broader healthcare infrastructure so that the AI chatbot can provide personalized healthcare guidance. “When patients see a doctor, they receive prescriptions — such as losing weight, taking medication, or monitoring blood pressure — but often fail to follow through once they return home. Helping people adhere to those prescriptions in daily life is where digital health begins,” Park noted.
To keep your personal data safe, Samsung will use a hybrid approach — combining on-device and cloud processing. You will have complete control over your data, with the option to choose what stays on your device and what gets shared to the cloud. While the company is planning to bring the AI Health Coach to the US first, we can expect it to expand to other regions as well in the future.
