PSA: Samsung India Extends Free Replacement for Green Screen-Affected Units

Maybe your Samsung Galaxy device got hit by the green line issue, and you’re not sure if you can still get a free screen replacement. Well, there’s some good news. Samsung India has extended the deadline again. There are a few conditions though, which we’ll get into below.

Samsung India extends free screen replacement deadline to Sept 30

Samsung India’s free screen replacement program now runs through September 30, 2025. It covers a bunch of Galaxy devices that are less than three years old. These include models from the Galaxy S20, S21, S21 FE, S22, and S23 series. If you own one of these and it developed a green or pink line, especially after a software update, you’re likely eligible.

What you’ll need to make sure is that screen issue isn’t linked to some accidental damage. Also, you’ll need to make sure it has no cracks or signs of liquid exposure. If so, your device probably won’t qualify, but you should still check on.

To claim your free screen replacement, you’ll need to visit an authorized Samsung service center in India with your original purchase. You can check the closest Service Center to you here. Samsung covers the cost of the screen, but you may be charged a small service fee, typically around INR 600. It’s a relatively small price compared to a full out-of-warranty replacement, which can cost upwards of INR 15,000.

Moreover, if you own the newer Galaxy S24 phones, you’re currently out of luck. Even though a few have reported similar issues, but Samsung so far hasn’t responses on whether the program will be extended to include them as well. The final advice would be to not delay the repair, if you’ve been putting it off. Chances are high that Samsung won’t extend the free screen replacement again, since it first started over two years ago.
