After an initial release in the US, Samsung has expanded the One UI 8 Watch rollout for the Galaxy Watch Ultra to more markets. The update is now live in India, where the company never launched the beta program. This could mean a global expansion, with the Watch 7 likely joining the party soon.

Galaxy Watch Ultra’s One UI 8 Watch update goes global

A few weeks ago, Samsung launched One UI 8 Watch beta programs for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra in South Korea and the US, with plans to expand to more devices later. Yesterday, it closed the Ultra model’s beta program in the US and pushed the stable build nationwide. This update has now reached more markets, signaling a global release.

Samsung could soon wrap up One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 7 and shift its focus to older models. The Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, Watch 6, and Watch FE are all eligible for this Wear OS 6-based update, though not all of them will beta beta builds. In fact, the company could now skip the beta stage and directly push the stable build to all of these watches, though it hasn’t said anything yet.

Note that One UI 8 Watch is available out of the box on the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. This update brings several upgrades, including improved health tracking, energy score metrics, personalized heart rate zones, and smoother UI animations. With its expanded rollout, Samsung is inching closer to a stable release across all eligible models, possibly within the next couple of weeks.

If you’re a Galaxy Watch Ultra user in India or elsewhere outside the initial beta regions, check for software updates via the Galaxy Wearable app. This may be your first taste of Samsung’s next-gen wearable software. Users with other Galaxy Watch models can expect this update in the coming weeks.
