What a time to be alive! Samsung is still wrapping up the One UI 7 rollout, meaning a few devices are still waiting in line for the update. Meanwhile, Samsung has published a landing page for the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series on its community website. This hints that One UI 8 might be arriving sooner (via Tarun Vats on X).

Looks like One UI 8 beta program is on the horizon!

At first, the One UI 8 beta will likely be limited to the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. The latest Galaxy S25 Edge isn’t mentioned, which suggests it might be added later, or not at all. The latter wouldn’t be surprising either. Even though the Galaxy S25 Edge (hands-on) is quite different from the Fan Edition (FE), Samsung has skipped FE models in the past. Still, we’re hoping for the One UI 8 beta on the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Based on past patterns, the US and South Korea should be first in line to get it. Other usual suspects for beta access include Germany, India, Poland, China, and the UK. Samsung hasn’t expanded the beta to more markets in recent years, and that probably isn’t changing this time around.

Google has already hinted that Android 16 will roll out to Galaxy devices this summer. On top of that, rumors are swirling that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will launch with One UI 8 out of the box. Taking all this into account, it makes sense for Samsung to kick off the One UI 8 beta program sooner rather than later.

As for the update itself, don’t expect any major shake-ups. One UI 8 is based on Android 16, but early reports suggest it’s a light update with only a handful of new features. Ahead of the One UI 8 beta, you can check which Galaxy devices will receive the update.

We’ll keep you posted when the beta program goes live. Stay tuned.
