While several older Galaxy devices are still waiting for the One UI 7 update, Samsung is gearing up for its One UI 8 beta program. The landing page for the beta program on its community website is already live, hinting at an imminent launch. An earlier report revealed that the beta program is indeed on track for a May 2025 launch, possibly next week. In this article, we will discuss key details about Samsung’s next big software update, including eligible devices, supported regions, and how to join the beta program.

Do you want to try One UI 8 beta? Here’s what you need to know

If you are a Samsung fan, you may have noticed that enthusiasts and developers are already getting access to One UI 8. That’s because the Korean firm has made some early builds available through the Remote Test Lab (RTL), allowing users to test the software before its official launch. Now, the important question is which Galaxy devices are eligible for the One UI 8 beta program? Rest assured, Samsung’s 2025 flagship Galaxy S smartphones — Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra — will be the first to get a taste of the One UI 8 beta.

One UI 8 Beta Program Gerwin

While the Galaxy S25 Edge recently joined the lineup as the fourth member, there’s little chance Samsung will include it in the first batch of beta-eligible devices. However, Samsung will continue to expand the list, with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S25 Edge likely to join in the second wave of the beta program.

It is worth noting that Samsung usually does not launch its major One UI beta programs in all countries at once. If the company follows a similar pattern this time around, the US and South Korea are likely to be first in line to receive the One UI 8 beta. And eventually, the eligible countries list should expand to Germany, India, Poland, China, and the UK.

How to join the beta program

Now, speaking of how to join the One UI 8 beta program, you first need to log in to the Samsung Members app using a Samsung account. If you are eligible for the program — i.e., you are using an eligible device in a supported country — you should see a banner regarding the beta program along with a Join Now button. Just tap on that button and register for the beta program. Now, to download the beta build, head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Do note that joining the beta program gives you the opportunity to experience One UI 8 ahead of the stable rollout, but the build often comes with bugs, so proceed with caution. We will let you know when Samsung starts its beta program. Stay tuned.
