Samsung has been steadily growing its Galaxy AI ecosystem since its debut last year. As part of that expansion, the company may soon make some of its existing AI tools available to users worldwide. Reports suggest that the upcoming One UI 8.5 update could finally bring features currently limited to China to global Galaxy devices.

One UI 8.5 could expand Galaxy AI’s real-world usefulness

Samsung offers several exclusive features to Galaxy users in China. These include AI-powered Meeting Assistant, Touch Assistant, Smart Clipboard, and Social Composer. According to the Korean media, the company is now gearing up to release these features worldwide with the One UI 8.5 update. This follows an earlier report suggesting the same.

The features in question rely on generative AI to make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive. Meeting Assistant acts as a real-time interpreter during in-person meetings and presentations, translating on-screen content or spoken dialogue on the fly. It builds on the existing Call Assist feature, which currently handles live phone call translations and may get automatic answering capabilities with One UI 8.5.

Touch Assistant lets users select a specific area of text on-screen to instantly translate or summarize it, while Smart Clipboard intelligently detects copied text and suggests contextual actions like summarizing, translating, searching, or saving to favorites. Last but not least, Social Composer uses generative AI to automatically write social media posts or shopping reviews based on uploaded photos.

Samsung is preparing to roll out these upgrades alongside the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026. The new flagships will ship with One UI 8.5 pre-installed out of the box. Older models will receive the update a few weeks later. Samsung is expected to launch beta programs for the upcoming update in late November. The Galaxy S25 series, S24 series, and recent foldables may get beta updates.
