Samsung has rolled out the second One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series, and this release is all about refinement and stability. Based on feedback from early testers, Beta 2 focuses on fixing system-level bugs, smoothing performance hiccups, and improving reliability across core features. Here’s the full changelog.
One UI 8.5 Beta 2 changelog: What’s new and improved
The latest update is now live for eligible beta participants and arrives just two weeks after the first One UI 8.5 beta rollout. As expected, Samsung hasn’t introduced any major new features in this build. Instead, the focus is squarely on addressing issues that could affect day-to-day usability.
According to the official changelog, the update brings back Dual Recording and Single Take camera modes. Samsung had removed these in beta 1, promising to reintroduce them in the second beta. These features are now part of Camera Assistant. This update also fixes an issue where Quick Panel settings would intermittently reset or initialize incorrectly during boot and resolves layout problems in the Quick Panel, including incorrect icon spacing and positioning.
Samsung has also addressed a Gallery bug that caused photos organized into group folders to jump back to the first album page. In addition, the update improves stuttering and lag when tapping the More View menu during calls. Some early beta users had reported intermittent rebooting, which has now been fixed.
On top of that, One UI 8.5 Beta 2 resolves an issue where the Volume Up button failed to work under specific conditions. The update also improves call audio issues when connected to certain Bluetooth car kits. Other fixes include force-closing problems with third-party apps and broader system stability improvements, including enhancements to the Camera app.
Note that One UI 8.5 remains in beta, so minor issues may still surface. That said, this update brings Samsung a step closer to a stable release. The final version is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series in the first quarter of 2026. The Galaxy S25 lineup may receive a few more beta builds before then. Stay tuned for further updates.
