In a surprising development, a One UI 8.5 Beta firmware has surfaced for Canadian variants of the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung’s test servers recently added a new beta firmware with build version S93*WVLU7ZYLB, fueling speculation that the company may be preparing a beta release in Canada. However, the likelihood of a public rollout remains low for now.

Samsung prepares One UI 8.5 Beta for Canadian Galaxy S25 units

Earlier this week, Samsung kicked off the One UI 8.5 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, giving users an early look at the next major software update. As usual, the beta began with a first-wave rollout limited to South Korea, the US, the UK, and Germany. These four countries traditionally receive Samsung’s earliest beta builds.

Additionally, Samsung confirmed that beta updates will be rolled out to the Galaxy S25 trio in India and Poland at a later date. It may open beta programs in these two countries during the second wave, which is expected on December 22, 2025. Besides these six, no other market is expected to get beta access to One UI 8.5.

However, Samsung has now developed a beta build for the Galaxy S25 lineup in Canada. While this build is not publicly available, its appearance has sparked discussions across online communities. Some users believe Samsung is preparing for a broader One UI 8.5 Beta rollout, but that may be an overly optimistic expectation. The company has always kept beta programs limited to the aforementioned six markets.

If Samsung does indeed extend One UI 8.5 Beta to more regions, Canada surely looks like a primary candidate. But for now, users should keep their hopes low. In all likelihood, the beta build is meant for internal testing rather than a public rollout. Users must wait until the stable release sometime in 2026.
