Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7’s new camera features detailed
Whether you’re using FlexCam or shooting on the cover display, Samsung has revamped the camera experience from top to bottom with One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. The Fold is all about pushing imaging boundaries, and the company has pulled out all the stops with flagship-level camera upgrades, including a 200MP high-resolution main sensor and a new 10MP front camera.
Backed by AI image processing, photos retain clarity and sharpness even when cropped or zoomed in. The wider field of view offered by the upgrade selfie shooter includes distortion correction, making group selfies on the expansive inner display easier and more flattering. The ultra-wide lens also supports correction tools to eliminate edge distortion, perfect for events or gatherings.
In Capture View, where users can preview their shots alongside the camera viewfinder, favorite, share, and delete actions have been made easier and more intuitive. Additionally, for creators and post-production enthusiasts, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 adds Log video capture in both front and rear camera modes. This lets users apply advanced color grading during editing, offering cinematic flexibility like never before.
The Flip model improves the cover screen camera experience
Samsung’s Z Flip series has always leaned into fun and function, and with One UI 8, FlexCam gets smarter, and the cover screen camera experience is better than ever. The company has enlarged the camera preview on the cover display, allowing for better composition without needing to unfold the phone. Essential tools like zoom, quick control, and quick view now sit in the lower-left corner for easy access.
Samsung has also added playful animation effects around the cover camera hole. These activate during the camera app launch, portrait and night modes, and when video recording starts and stops. The camera settings menu has been redesigned for quick access. With swipe gestures, users can now swipe up or down anywhere on the camera screen to open the Quick Control menu and toggle between camera modes or settings with fewer taps
Moreover, the newly added lens button and zoom slider on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 make it faster to toggle between lenses and adjust zoom directly from the cover screen. Users can also apply retro-style filters to mimic analog film directly from the cover display, giving their shots a nostalgic flair.
Samsung’s camera team says these updates are all about capturing better moments more easily, and that vision is clear across both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. With more powerful hardware and more intuitive software, One UI 8 makes the foldable camera experience more pro-grade, playful, and personal. These enhancements will roll out to other models with One UI 8.
