Galaxy Z Fold 7 Goes Official with Slimmer Design, 200MP Camera

After months of leaks and anticipation, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7 — the company’s most refined foldable phone yet. With its sleek new design, flagship-tier performance, and major camera upgrades, the Fold 7 aims to set the gold standard for book-style foldables in 2025. Samsung launches Galaxy Z Fold 7 with several big upgrades

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Samsung’s slimmest foldable to date, measuring just 4.2mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. At 215 grams, it is also lighter than its predecessor (239 grams), yet more durable thanks to a redesigned hinge and other hardware reinforcements.

Open it up, and you get a stunning 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The outer cover screen now measures 6.5 inches and adopts a more natural aspect ratio, making one-handed use much easier than before. Unfortunately, a slim and lightweight design means S Pen support is gone.

A major highlight is the new 200MP main camera — the same high-resolution sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Alongside it are a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide shooter, offering excellent flexibility. For selfies, Samsung has returned to a traditional punch-hole camera on the inside, ditching the under-display sensor for better image quality. Both selfie shooters offer a 10MP resolution.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, the Fold 7 promises blazing-fast performance and AI-enhanced multitasking. It ships with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and is eligible for seven years of software updates. Battery life is handled by a 4,400mAh cell with 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Price and availability

Samsung offers the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The former two variants offer 12GB of RAM, while the 1TB model boasts 16GB of RAM, with prices starting at $1,899. Standard color options include Silver Shadow, Blue Shadow, and Jet Black. You can also buy the device in Mint from Samsung.com. Pre-orders are open now at Samsung.com and major retailers, with general availability starting on July 25, 2025.
