Google is continuing to refine its latest Android 16 OS through quarterly platform releases. The company recently dropped Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3, which brings improvements, bug fixes, and new features. The update is available over-the-air (OTA) for Pixel phones enrolled in the beta program. Some of these features could roll out to Galaxy devices with future One UI updates.

Google introduces a new accessibility tool in the latest Android 16 beta

The latest beta build, version BP31.250610.004, comes bundled with the July 2025 security patch. While Google only mentions several known bug fixes in its release notes, it also introduces new features. One notable addition that has recently come to light is the Keyboard Magnifier.

You can access the feature via Settings > Accessibility > Magnification. The description reads, “Zoom into the keyboard to see emojis and letters when using full-screen magnification.” Basically, the company has designed this feature to improve the typing experience for users with vision issues.

Speaking of fixes, the latest Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 update fixes a bunch of stability and UI-related issues that were affecting the user experience. It fixes the RTOS task list corruption issue that was causing device restarts. Other fixes include the launcher and notification display glitch. The update also addresses a bug where the media player in the notification pulldown fails to display and function fully.

While this update has nothing to do with Galaxy device users, it shows Google’s efforts to improve the core Android experience. More importantly, Samsung could adopt these enhancements in its One UI custom software in the future. However, for now, all eyes are on Android 16-based One UI 8, which is now official. The company has debuted the latest software alongside the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE.

In late May, the Korean firm kicked off the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series. So far, three beta builds have been released, and a fourth beta may arrive in the coming weeks. The final version for these devices may roll out sometime in August 2025. We will let you know once the rollout begins — stay tuned.
