Google Wallet Now Pops Up in Now Bar for Flight Updates, and More

Now Bar launched on Galaxy phones with One UI 7, alongside the Galaxy S25 trio in January. Since then, it has added support for third-party apps, thanks to One UI 8 and Android 16’s Live Notifications API. The latest update lets Google Wallet show real-time information directly in Now Bar.

With One UI 8 rolling out quickly, your Galaxy phone has likely already received the update. All that’s left is to update Google Play Services to v25.41, and you’re set. Once updated, Google Wallet can push Live Updates directly to your always-on display, lock screen, or status bar, using Now Bar. This lets you stay informed at a glance without having to open the app. That’s important when you’re at the airport, unless you have a solid record of reaching on time.

If this gives you a bit of déjà vu, that’s because it works in a way similar to Samsung Wallet’s travel updates. The difference is that now Google’s ecosystem integrates seamlessly with your Galaxy device. You can track boarding times, gate changes, and even see trip progress in real time, all without unlocking your phone.

Previously, Google Wallet relied on standard notifications for travel information. With this integration, updates are more visual and glanceable. For instance, a small pill next to the time can show your flight duration, or a progress bar can indicate how far along your train journey is. Everything appears right in Now Bar, so you can stay on top of travel plans effortlessly.

Moreover, there are a few more additions in the Google Play Services v25.41 update, including notifications for importing a loyalty pass from Gmail, available on devices with Android 12. It also allows you to add cards using your bank’s app, enabling your credit or debit card to be added directly to Google Wallet.
