Google Wallet Could Finally Support Aadhaar Cards in India

Google Wallet lets you store travel passes, movie tickets, and a few types of IDs, but it doesn’t support Aadhaar in India yet. For those who don’t know, Aadhaar is a government-issued identity card that foreign residents can also obtain. That’s been a noticeable gap, especially since Samsung Wallet already offers Aadhaar support.
You may be able to add Aadhaar cards in Google Wallet finally!
Folks at Android Authority spotted references to Aadhaar while digging through Google Wallet version 25.1.850929474. Those references point to early work on adding Aadhaar cards to the app. If and when the feature rolls out publicly, you may eventually be able to keep a digital copy of your Aadhaar in Google Wallet.
Alongside the Aadhaar mentions, the same app version also hints at a small design refresh. Google appears to be testing a new split-style floating action button placed at the center of the screen. Below, you can check out the screenshots, courtesy of Android Authority.
As you can see in the images, one button still opens the familiar Add to wallet page for adding cards and passes. The second button View more isn’t active yet, but in-app text suggests it could help users manage what appears on the home screen, browse stored items, and possibly search within the wallet.
None of these features are live right now, and there’s no official timeline from Google. Still, the appearance of Aadhaar references and interface changes strongly suggests something’s in the works. We’ll keep an eye on it and report back when the feature is ready and starts rolling out.
