YouTube suggestions are getting the biggest upgrade. New strings found in early One UI 8.5 code show that the system will now explain why certain videos are being recommended. It will highlight clips based on your interests, your favorite sports teams, or even your travel plans. Samsung has also added permission prompts that clearly explain how sharing specific data will lead to richer and more accurate YouTube recommendations in Now Brief.

Spotify recommendations are getting a similar improvement, but with a stronger focus on context. According to the new strings, Now Brief will choose playlists that match the time, date, and general mood of the moment.

Moreover, Afternoon energy boosts, Friday warmup playlists, rainy-day mixes, winter selections, bedtime wind-down tracks, and even New Year and year-end playlists are part of the update. This lines up well with Now Brief’s original goal of delivering content that fits your day without requiring you to search for it.
