Galaxy Z Fold 7 Joins Early One UI 9 Testing

Samsung may not have any plans to release a One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but that hasn’t stopped the company from moving ahead with its next big software update. In a surprising development, Samsung has already begun internal testing of One UI 9.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 enters One UI 9 testing, and what a surprise!
Earlier today, we spotted evidence that Samsung is testing One UI 9 for its upcoming foldables, which are expected to include the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the rumored Galaxy Wide Fold. That alone was interesting, but it turns out the company is also testing One UI 9 for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
This move feels unusually quick. One UI 8.5 stable hasn’t even been released yet and is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Despite that, Samsung is already laying the groundwork for One UI 9, which could make its official debut with the next-generation foldables slated for summer 2026.
According to details shared by Alfatürk, the internal test build carries version number F966USQU8CZB3. As always, it’s important to keep expectations in check. The presence of a test build only confirms that Samsung has started early firmware development for one of its devices.
It does not mean that users will get early access to the update. It also doesn’t suggest that One UI 9 will arrive ahead of schedule. For now, this is simply a sign that Samsung’s software roadmap is already in motion for its 2026 foldable lineup. And maybe, in the coming weeks, we may have a few more things to share? Never say never.
