Last week, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 surfaced on Geekbench with impressive scores. As the launch approaches, the company continues to optimize the new foldable. Fresh benchmark results show an uptick in performance, further reinforcing the “Ultra” foldable tag from Samsung.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 crushes Geekbench scores ahead of launch

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the same “overclocked” Snapdragon 8 Elite processor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The octa-core chipset has two CPU cores running at a whopping 4.47GHz and the other six at 3.53GHz. The company pairs the chip with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, with the new foldable also running Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.

The latest Geekbench runs for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 yielded single-core scores of over 3,000 and multi-core scores of over 9,700. These scores are notably higher than what the phone achieved a few days ago — about 2,900 and 9,200, respectively. This indicates ongoing optimizations ahead of the official launch. Rumors suggest Samsung will unveil the new foldable in July, possibly on July 9.

The Korean firm has already started teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 7, highlighting its Ultra-level performance and slim design. The upcoming model is incredibly slim at just 3.9mm, a drastic thickness drop from the Fold 6’s 5.6mm (unfolded thickness excluding the display bumpers). Samsung has also made it taller and wider, allowing for bigger screens on the inside and outside.

If you plan to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 7 — or Flip 7, Flip FE, or Galaxy Watch 8, all of which are expected to break cover at the same event next month — keep an eye out for Samsung’s pre-reservations.
