Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 continues to see strong demand from consumers around the world. Thanks to its slimmer, lighter, and durable design with advanced features, the device has quickly gained a lot of popularity. So much so that the company has reportedly decided to increase its production volume by 60,000 units this month.

Samsung increases Galaxy Z Fold 7 production this month

Samsung has come a long way in its foldable innovation, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the most advanced to date. During the pre-order period (from July 9 to 24), the company saw exceptional demand for the new Fold across several major markets, including the US, South Korea, and India. This trend appears to be continuing, which is why the Korean firm has now increased its production volume.

According to a report from TheElec, Samsung plans to make 260,000 units of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 this month, up from the 200,000 units originally planned in early July. Last month, the company also exceeded its original production plan, making 430,000 units compared to the 170,000 units. This shows that demand for the new form factor has been growing despite its premium price.

An industry source said that cumulative orders for Z Fold 7 components are slightly above initial expectations. While this is a positive sign, production yields for some components might slow sales growth. Samsung usually assembles the final phones about two to three weeks after the related components are ready. So, the company should also manage its component supply efficiently to reach production targets.

If production continues smoothly, Samsung expects the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to exceed its original annual shipment target of 2.4 million units. This will exceed last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 shipments of 2.2 million units. However, by combining other foldable models like the Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE, legacy models, and the upcoming tri-fold, Samsung aims to ship a total of 6.1 million foldable phones this year.

If you want to experience the new form factor with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a pro-grade 200MP camera, you can purchase the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from the Samsung website.
