The company is gearing up to launch three new models next week, including its first Fan Edition foldable. Until now, there’s been some confusion over what it would be called, with conflicting names surfacing online. However, a premature accessory listing appears to have settled the debate: the device will officially be named the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

Rumors about a budget-friendly Flip have swirled for months, with tech enthusiasts debating whether Samsung would call it the Galaxy Z Flip FE or Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Some listings even referred to it as the Galaxy Z Flip Xe. Recent reports leaned toward the Flip 7 FE branding, and now, listings on Spigen’s website may have confirmed it.

Spigen, one of the most recognizable case makers in the mobile space, briefly listed cases for both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. The firm quickly removed the premature listings, but not before Android Central could capture screenshots. This confirms that Samsung is embracing the “FE” branding in a way that aligns with its traditional smartphone lineup.

The Korean firm’s decision to include the “7” in the name suggests this won’t be a one-off experiment. The FE foldable lineup may continue in the coming years, so Samsung is opting for a unified generational identity across the foldable family, making it easier for consumers to identify where the device fits in the lineup. More importantly, which generation a device belongs to. Simply calling it Flip FE would mean the next model would be Flip FE 2, which can confuse consumers.
