Galaxy XR to Launch in Canada, Europe and More Markets in 2026: Report

Samsung’s first extended reality (XR) headset, the Galaxy XR, marked the company’s long-awaited entry into the mixed reality market last month. However, most people still can’t buy the device, as it is available only in South Korea and the United States. The good news is that Samsung plans to bring it to more markets, though not until 2026.
Samsung Galaxy XR is reported to see a wider release in 2026
Since its launch last month, Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed plans to launch the Galaxy XR in more markets. However, SamMobile claims that the company could release the headset in Germany, France, the UK, and Canada. The publication notes that this expansion may not happen until 2026 and that this list may not be final.
According to the report, Samsung could add more markets depending on production capacity and software developments over the next few months. The Galaxy XR is the first device to run Android XR, a new platform co-developed by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. It integrates Gemini, Google’s advanced AI assistant, which can interpret what you see and hear to assist with tasks.
The headset can also identify real-world objects and even generate 3D content in real time. Many developers are still in the process of porting their apps to Android XR. As the platform matures and more apps and immersive experiences become available, the Galaxy XR could evolve into a major player in the spatial computing space.
At $1,799, Samsung’s XR headset is relatively affordable (Apple’s Vision Pro debuted at $3,499). However, the company still appears to be taking a cautious rollout approach. It is focusing on gathering user feedback and refining the device before scaling globally. If things go as planned, 2026 might be the year Galaxy XR goes truly global, marking Samsung’s most ambitious step yet in redefining how users interact with digital and physical worlds.
