Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) key specs and features
Last year, Samsung introduced its first Ultra smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, to cater to the premium segment. It’s still a solid choice for users who want a rugged smartwatch with cutting-edge health features. As a result, instead of a complete overhaul, Samsung decided to refresh the model this year with a new color option, increased storage capacity, and an enhanced software experience.
Starting with design, the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) sports the same squircle-shaped case around a circular display with three buttons on the right-hand side. It has dual slits for the loudspeakers on the left-hand side and a BioActive sensor on the bottom. In fact, this year Samsung has adopted the squircle-shaped design language across its entire smartwatch lineup, including the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic.
The new Galaxy Watch Ultra comes in a single 47mm size and weighs 60.5 grams. It features a sapphire crystal on the front and a titanium grade 4 frame. The smartwatch’s MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification ensures it can handle extreme environments such as high and low temperatures, salt fog, dust, vibration, drops, and more. Likewise, it carries 10ATM and IP68 ratings, so you don’t have to worry about water and dust resistance during daily use or outdoor activities.
Exynos W1000 chip powers the new Ultra Watch
Speaking of the display, the smartwatch sports a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 480. Under the hood, Samsung equips the watch with an in-house Exynos W1000 chipset, the same processor found in its predecessor. Built on a 3nm GAA process, this chip has proven to deliver solid performance and efficiency. The good thing is you get 64GB of built-in storage — double that of last year’s Galaxy Watch Ultra — paired with 2GB of RAM.
Samsung retains the same battery and charging speed as its predecessor — it comes with a 590mAh battery and supports 10W wireless charging. On the software front, the 2025 Ultra Watch runs Wear OS 6-based One UI Watch 8 operating system out of the box. The new wearable software brings a host of powerful health features, such as Antioxidant Index and Vascular System.
With the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), you get four color variants: Titanium Blue, Titanium Gray, Titanium White, and Titanium Silver. As you can see, Samsung has introduced a new Titanium Blue shade, giving the lineup a fresh look. As for the price, the 2025 model comes with a price tag of $649, the same as its predecessor.
