Galaxy Watch’s Sleep Apnea Feature Reaches Europe, Australia and Singapore

Samsung has announced that it is expanding the availability of the Sleep Apnea detection feature on the Galaxy Watch to more countries. The feature is rolling out in 34 European markets, Australia, and Singapore, increasing the global total to 70 markets. It will soon reach all eligible Galaxy users through the Samsung Health Monitor app.
Galaxy Watch’s Sleep Apnea detection is now available in more countries
Samsung aims to provide its Galaxy Watch users with a seamless health monitoring experience. The company has been continuously introducing new features to improve health and wellness. One such useful feature is Sleep Apnea, which helps users proactively spot possible signs of moderate to severe sleep problems.

If you are from the United States and using the Galaxy Watch, you might already be familiar with the Sleep Apnea feature. That’s because last year, the Korean firm introduced this feature for eligible Galaxy Watch users in the US. So, why did the company take longer to make this useful feature available in other countries? Sleep Apnea detection feature on wearable devices requires approval from the relevant government bodies.
Recently, the feature received CE (Conformité Européenne) marking, which means Samsung meets the European Union’s strict health, safety, and environmental protection standards. Additionally, the feature has also been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) in Singapore. This allowed Samsung to expand the Sleep Apnea detection feature to more countries.
In its press release, Samsung wrote, “Sleep Apnea feature continues Samsung’s commitment to provide Galaxy users with the best possible tools to improve healthy sleep habits. By expanding access to its Sleep Apnea feature globally, Samsung is empowering users worldwide to take proactive steps toward better sleep health.”
When it comes to our overall health, good sleep plays an important role. Samsung aims to help its users sleep better by tracking their sleep patterns, providing personalized sleep coaching, and optimizing sleep environments. Since the Sleep Apnea feature on the Galaxy Watch can spot early signs of sleep problems, it helps users to prevent several health-related issues.
