Update 10/15 05:45 PM EST: This feature doesn’t appear to be exclusive to the flagship Galaxy Tabs. We can confirm that the option to enable it for tabs and tab groups in Chrome’s Advanced settings is also available on the Galaxy Tab S10 FE. See the screenshot below.

What you probably know is that Samsung and Google have a close partnership. As a result, Google debuts many features on Samsung devices and even keeps some exclusive to them. Now, Android Authority reports on one such feature that is noticeably missing from the Pixel tablets, but you can try it out on the Galaxy Tab S10 and S11 series.

Chrome tabs appear in One UI search on Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S11 series

On the Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S11 series, Chrome can share open tabs, including titles and URLs, with Samsung’s One UI Home launcher. This feature allows tabs from the past seven days to appear in Samsung Finder search results, effectively bringing Chrome closer to the deep system integration previously enjoyed by Samsung Internet.

Normally, Chrome does not interact with launcher search bars on Android devices, including Pixel tablets. Samsung Internet, however, has long benefited from native integration with One UI Home, allowing users to search their browser history directly from the launcher. The new Chrome feature seems to be Google’s attempt to close that gap for Galaxy tablet owners without replacing Samsung Internet.

Chrome Galaxy Tab open tabs

Here’s why

To use the feature, you need to enable Share titles and the URLs of open tabs from this device with the operating system under Tabs and tab groups in Chrome’s Advanced settings. Mishaal Rahman from Android Authority also provides an explanation of how it works. The feature relies on devices reporting support for Auxiliary Search, which may be why it is limited to high-end Galaxy Tab models.

At the time of publishing, we also noticed a comment on Mishaal’s post on X from a user claiming that a similar feature is available on the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. If true, this would suggest it should also be available on the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE series. We are investigating and will update the story as soon as we have more information.
