Galaxy Tab S10 Lite Appears Again as Samsung Tests New Software Internally

Samsung has ramped up the development of its next affordable Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. The company is internally testing One UI software builds on this tablet. It should go official later this year with Android 16-based One UI 8 onboard.
Samsung is testing One UI software builds for the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite
According to a new leak from Samsung enthusiast Alfaturk, Samsung is currently testing the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite’s One UI software with the build version X406BXXU0AYF9. While not a dramatic milestone, this marks the second major appearance of the device following a Geekbench listing a few weeks ago. It revealed key specs and hinted at its positioning in the Tab S10 lineup.
The Geekbench entry confirmed that the device carries model number SM-X406B and is powered by the Exynos 1380 processor — the same mid-range chipset used in some of Samsung’s Galaxy A series mid-range phones. It scored 782 points in single-core CPU tests and 2,637 points in multi-core tests on Geekbench v5.5.1.
The chipset choice and scores indicate Samsung will position the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite as a mid-range Android tablet, possibly below the Tab S10 FE lineup. Interestingly, the tested unit was running Android 15-based One UI 7, but that probably wasn’t the final software build. As mentioned above, it should run One UI 8 out of the box. We already know that the new version will go official on July 9.
Not much else is known about this tablet as of now. Recent developments suggest it will go official in a few months, possibly sometime in August or September. Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra in October. Launching the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite alongside those flagships doesn’t really make sense. We will let you know as more information surfaces online.
