After a delay in the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 release last week, the update was expected to arrive today. However, it did not roll out. Despite this, Samsung continues to actively expand the January 2026 security patch rollout. The latest additions are the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.

Samsung begins January 2026 security patch for Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab S10 Lite

Samsung has started rolling out the January 2026 security patch for the Galaxy Tab A9 in its home market, South Korea. The update carries the build version X110XXS8DZA6 for the Wi-Fi variant. Its elder sibling, the Galaxy Tab A9+, also received the same security update in South Korea last week. The update does not bring new features, but focuses on improving system security and overall device stability. The January 2026 security patch fixes 55 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners.

At the same time, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite has also begun receiving the January 2026 security patch. The update for the Wi-Fi model comes with the build version X400XXS3BZA3 and is currently rolling out in South Korea. Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to more regions in the coming days.

Apart from the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, several other Samsung tablets have already received the January 2026 security patch. These include the Galaxy Tab S9 series, Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro, and Galaxy Tab A9+.

All the tablets mentioned above are expected to be eligible for One UI 8.5. They should receive the update in the first half of this year.

One UI 8.5 brings new features, refreshed system apps, and improved blur effects across the interface. The stable version is expected to debut next month alongside the Galaxy S26 series at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.

If you own any of the devices mentioned above, you can manually check for the January 2026 security update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download completes, tap Install now
