Mohammed Khatri on X reported that Samsung has begun testing the Android 16–based One UI 8 for the Galaxy Tab A9. Currently, the One UI 8 build for the Tab A9 is being tested internally in India, Europe, and Turkey. At the moment, the build version in the question is X110XXU5DYI1.

There’s no news yet regarding the Galaxy Tab A9+, but it’s likely to undergo the same testing in the coming days. This is typical, as Samsung usually tests devices with multiple builds before rolling out the stable update.

According to a leaked update schedule, the Galaxy Tab A9 is expected to receive Android 16-based update on November 5. This places it near the end of the rollout list. Most other tablets will likely have One UI 8 by then. One UI 8 for Galaxy Tabs is scheduled to start rolling out on October 1.

Additionally, Samsung has the Galaxy Tab A11 and Tab A11+ in the pipeline. These are reportedly set to launch later this month. However, these models aren’t expected to feature major upgrades. They’re likely sticking with the same chipset as their predecessors. They will also ship with One UI 7 out of the box. That means users will need to wait longer for the One UI 8 update. We’ll be sure to provide updates once it launches.
