Samsung Releases First Software Update for Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has started rolling out the first software update for its latest flagship lineup. The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are all picking up an update in South Korea, with a global rollout expected in the coming days. The devices are getting the February 2026 security patch, which addresses dozens of vulnerabilities and strengthens overall device security.

Galaxy S26 gets first update with security fixes

When the Galaxy S26 series launched, the phones shipped with the January 2026 security patch. This new release moves the devices to the February patch level, which fixes 37 security vulnerabilities across the Android system and Samsung’s software components. There may be some software optimizations too, but Samsung doesn’t appear to be seeding any new features to its latest flagships.

The February update for the Galaxy S26 trio comes with firmware version S94*NKSS1AZC7 in Korea (via Tarun Vats). The OTA (over the air) file carries a download size of about 557MB for the Ultra model. The rollout is expected to expand to other regions gradually. Users can check whether the update is available on their devices by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Even though Samsung has already detailed its March SMR (Security Maintenance Release), it hasn’t begun the rollout yet. The Galaxy S26 series should be one of the first to receive the new package.
