Samsung’s next-generation flagships could mark a notable design shift. After years of flat backs with floating lenses, leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 series will bring back the camera bump. Newly surfaced dummy units of all three models offer an early look at their possible rear designs.

Galaxy S26 dummy units show off the new camera bump

Samsung’s 2026 flagship lineup is expected to consist of three models: Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. The company drops the Plus model and integrates the Edge into the main lineup, while the base model now bears the Pro branding. A photo posted on X by @SonnyDickson shows alleged dummy models of the Galaxy S26 trio.

According to the leaked dummies, the Galaxy S26 Edge adopts a design heavily inspired by the iPhone 17 Pro, with a wide camera island stretching across the top of the rear panel. The phone still appears to pack only two rear cameras, which likely means no zoom lens.

While Samsung managed to offer a 200MP primary shooter and a 12MP ultrawide lens on the S25 Edge with a smaller camera bump, the upcoming model is expected to be slimmer. We are looking at a thickness of just 5.5mm (down from 5.8mm), all the while packing a bigger battery, potentially a 4,200mAh unit instead of 3,900mAh. These upgrades might have forced a bigger camera bump.

Coming to the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Ultra, they appear to stick closer to Samsung’s established aesthetic. While their rear designs will incorporate a camera island, the overall appearance doesn’t deviate much from the standard Galaxy look. Again, the bump was likely necessary because of a slimmer build — the S26 Pro could be 6.7mm thick, while the Ultra could be 7.8mm thick. The Ultra model also gets more rounded corners, something recent leaks have hinted at.

What about Qi2 wireless charging?

In the image above, you can also spot a circular ring at the center of the back panel. This hints at built-in magnets for full Qi2 wireless charging support. However, since similar rings appeared on Galaxy S25 dummy units without making it to the final design, it’s best to wait for more concrete details on Samsung’s Qi2 plans for the Galaxy S26 lineup.

As with any dummy leak, these designs should be taken with caution. Dummy units are often based on early prototypes and may differ from the final retail design. A clearer picture will emerge when CAD renders start surfacing closer to launch in early 2026.
