Samsung’s newest flagship lineup is off to a strong start. Early sales indicators suggest the Galaxy S26 series could become one of the company’s most successful smartphone launches yet, at least in the home market if not globally. According to the Korean media, pre-orders are already tracking ahead of the previous generation, so much so that Samsung is eyeing a new “Guinness” record.

Galaxy S26 pre-orders may break all previous records in Korea

The combined pre-orders of the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are reportedly on track to surpass 1.5 million units in South Korea. That’s a 15% jump over the previous generation (Galaxy S25), which hit 1.3 million pre-orders. While the final figure for the new models isn’t available yet, current demand suggests Samsung’s latest flagships will set a new record. The pre-order period runs until March 5 in Korea.

Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the best-selling model of the lot. The Ultra has always outsold its siblings, but the latest model’s share is much higher than the earlier trend. It reportedly accounts for roughly 70% of all Galaxy S26 pre-orders in Korea so far.

While these numbers are specific to Korea, Samsung’s flagships typically show a similar sales trend in many global markets. Last year, the Galaxy S25 series recorded strong early sales in many other regions. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 lineup remain open until March 10, 2026, in some markets. We expect more market insights on early sales next week.
