Galaxy S26+ Appears on India’s BIS Certification Ahead of Launch

Samsung will roll out the classic trio, which includes the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to recent leaks, all three will debut at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for late February. One of the models has recently been certified by India’s Bureau of Standards (BIS).

Samsung Galaxy S26+ spotted on BIS as launch approaches
As we get closer to the launch, the Galaxy S26+ has been spotted on India’s BIS database (h/t writer Mohammed Khatri and Anvin on X). It has appeared with the model number SM-S947B/DS. The “B” in the model number refers to international variants, which are sold in several markets, including India. The “DS” suffix points to the usual dual-SIM support.

Another thing to note here is that this model number was previously assigned to the Galaxy S26 Edge, which has been canceled off late, so we’ll assume this for the Galaxy S26+ instead. A few weeks ago, the Galaxy S26 Ultra was also spotted on India’s BIS. Everything appears to be on track. Assuming the leaks are accurate, the Galaxy S26 lineup will be announced on February 25 in San Francisco, USA. This would also suggest availability sometime in March.
Leaks also suggest that the Galaxy S26+ will feature a 6.7-inch flat display with a centered punch-hole camera and slim, symmetrical bezels. Under the hood, Samsung may equip it with either the Exynos 2600 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, depending on the region. The phone could pack a 4,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired and 20W wireless charging. Samsung is reportedly not increasing prices for the Galaxy S26 series.
We should learn more details as the launch approaches. As always, we will keep you updated with any new developments. In the meantime, if you are in the US, you can sign up for our mystery box program.
