Galaxy S26 Brings Gemini Integration to Samsung Gallery

Samsung continues to expand Google Gemini across its apps. After the Galaxy S25 series and One UI 7 brought Gemini integration to apps like Samsung Notes, Samsung Calendar, and Samsung Reminder, the Galaxy S26 series now expands this capability to one more Samsung app: Gallery.
Samsung Gallery now has Gemini integration
According to Android Authority, this new capability arrives with One UI 8.5 and the Galaxy S26 series, allowing users to search and interact with their photos using natural-language commands. In simple terms, instead of scrolling endlessly through your camera roll, you can just ask Gemini to find what you need.
With this new integration, Gemini can connect directly to the Gallery app and analyze the media stored on your device. Users can ask the assistant to find photos or videos based on descriptions, dates, locations, or even specific subjects.
For example, you could say something like “Find photos of my cat from last month” or “Show pictures from my trip to Paris.” Gemini will then surface matching results directly from the Gallery. Gemini can also help you share images from the Gallery with contacts using voice commands or typed prompts.
However, the integration still has some limits. Right now, Gemini cannot delete photos, move images between albums, or share videos, so its control over the Gallery remains fairly basic for the moment. Still, this feature shows how Samsung wants AI to simplify everyday actions on your phone.
Gemini already expanded across Samsung apps last year
This move didn’t appear out of nowhere. Samsung started integrating Google’s Gemini AI across its native apps with the Galaxy S25 series and One UI 7.0 last year. That update allowed Gemini to work with apps like Samsung Calendar, Notes, and Reminders, enabling cross-app actions and deeper system integration.
Gemini also became the default voice assistant on the Galaxy S25 lineup, replacing the traditional role of Google Assistant on Samsung’s newest flagships. With the Galaxy S26 series and One UI 8.5, Samsung now takes the next step by bringing the AI assistant into the Gallery app, making it the fourth major Samsung app to support Gemini interactions.
Also, this new Gemini integration with Samsung Gallery isn’t yet available in One UI 8.5 Beta on the Galaxy S25 series. So, the final stable release might bring this new feature to more Galaxy smartphones.
